The 2016 Cabernet Franc was aged for 18 months in 90% used oak (mostly American, with a little French and Hungarian for the last fifth). It comes in at 12.5% alcohol. Tight, tannic and unevolved, this is all about the potential just now. One key issue is the wood—it covers the wine and mutes the grape's personality. The depth is just average, but the structure here suggests that this can age, develop and have a chance to pull in the wood. It should smooth out in terms of tannins. Even at the moment, this is pleasing, but it preferably needs a year or two in the cellar. It is a good value. There were 217 cases produced. Wine Advocate
